CHRISTOPHER J. PETRINI is founding principal of Petrini & Associates, P.C. Mr. Petrini’s practice focuses on municipal law, public construction and professional liability defense. Mr. Petrini has served as Town Counsel to the Town of Framingham since 2001 and serves as Special Counsel to other cities and towns throughout the Commonwealth in disputes involving public construction, labor and other municipal law issues. Prior to forming Petrini & Associates, Mr. Petrini was a partner with the Boston law firm of Conn Kavanaugh Rosenthal Peisch & Ford LLP, where he served on the Management Committee and was co-chair of the Construction Law Practice Group and the Hiring Committee.
Mr. Petrini is President of the Massachusetts City Solicitors and Town Counsel Association (CSTCA) and serves on its Executive Committee. He is also a member of the International Municipal Lawyers Association (IMLA) and the Massachusetts Bar Association. Mr. Petrini has chaired or served as a speaker on a variety of programs sponsored by organizations such as the Massachusetts Municipal Association, Massachusetts Municipal Managers Association, MCLE, Inc., CSTCA and IMLA on topics relating to municipal law, public construction and employment law. Mr. Petrini also has authored and co-authored articles in professional journals in the areas of his expertise.
Mr. Petrini earned his A.B. in Philosophy and Government from Georgetown University (cum laude) and is a high honors graduate of Duke University School of Law. While in Law School, Mr. Petrini served as a Staff Editor of Duke Law School’s Law and Contemporary Problems. Mr. Petrini also earned his M.A. in Philosophy from the Duke University Graduate School. After Law School, Mr. Petrini served as a Judicial Law Clerk to the Honorable Theodore M. McMillian of the United States Court of Appeals for the Eighth Circuit in St. Louis, where he researched and wrote draft decisions on questions of federal law, several of which received national attention.
Mr. Petrini is admitted to practice in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, the State of Illinois, the United States District Court for the District of Massachusetts, the Northern District of Illinois, and the United States Courts of Appeal for the First and Eighth Circuits.
