Our attorneys have litigated a variety of employment law matters in state and federal courts, as well as before governmental agencies such as the Massachusetts Commission Against Discrimination and the Civil Service Commission. Our experience spans across virtually the entire spectrum of employment law issues.

We have recently represented our clients in matters involving, among others:

  • Fair Labor Standards Act

  • Family and Medical Leave Act

  • Wage and Hour Law

  • The American with Disabilities Act

  • G.L. c. 151B discrimination claims

  • Employee discipline and discharge claims

Our attorneys have similarly vast experience handling complex labor issues. We have a strong tradition of securing desired outcomes for our clients in:

  • Representing public employers in the bargaining process

  • Defending employers at arbitrations over union grievances

  • Litigating matters before the Division of Labor Resources and the Joint Labor Management Committee

  • Overtime claims

  • Health insurance bargaining under G.L. c. 32B, including coalition bargaining under G.L. c. 32B, Sec. 19

These represent only a sampling of the issues P&A routinely handles for our clients in the complex and sensitive area of public employment and labor law. By virtue of such experience we are keenly aware of the legal nuances unique to this area, and we are strongly equipped to advise and advocate for public employers of any size.
